For you have never been this way before

Joshua 4

Wow, so many changes during this past year. My father-in-law passed away, my 6th grandchild was born, and my son went active with the Coast Guard and moved out of state. We're empty nesters again!!!! Oh, and did I miss the pandemic. Through it all God made provisions. I have not physically been able to hold my grandson Axel yet. I am looking forward to travel to Texas this year. I have a lot of hugs and kisses to give. He is a healthy and strong boy. This reminds me of what God said to Joshua “get ready to go into the promise land be strong and courageous”. To get to the Promised land the Israelites had to cross the Jordan, however it was flooded. Isn’t it like God to choose the flood season to tell the Israelites to cross the Jordan River?

Joshua 2 3-5 And they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you. The instructions were to stay close to the ark of covenant "When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out. Understand that we are to move out of the restlessness, defeat, fear and apathy. Then you will know where to go. Where to go is the arms and refuge of Jesus. He is the way, the life and the truth. We have never scaled such a wall, seen this giant of a pandemic, however we are not alone. How do I move forward in these changing times? I look back at what God has already done. I keep moving out of places and situations that try to entangle me. He has given me more than I could ever want and need and that's how I know that I could move forward. I look back and see each need met, and I could say Lord I'm moving forward because you are by my side.
